This is an album that compiles music created by the musician Brian Eno between 1975 and 1978, inspired by Erik Satie's "Furniture Music" and the concept of defining music as an environment in urban life, known as "ambient music." Some of the tracks, as implied by the title, were originally produced for use in film soundtracks. The album contains a total of 18 fragmented pieces, ranging from those with a soft, chamber music-like feel to electronics that directly connect with Germany's Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius, with whom Eno collaborated. Needless to say, the entire album is of the highest quality in terms of ambient music. Track A1/B7 was even sampled by the Italian underground experimental wave group Magazzini Criminali. This Japanese edition comes with a very interesting commentary by the late Mr. Yasushi Aki, and the sound quality is excellent.
