Formed in 1979 in Milan, Italy, around Esgardo Moia Cellerino and Tiberio Boncristiano, Le Masque presents their second release from 1986, a four-track 12-inch single. While the vocals in a chanson style may offer some resistance, tracks like the A2, featuring accordion, evoke a modern tango-infused longing, combining elegance akin to chamber music with a distinct indie rock sound. Highlighting clear-toned guitar reminiscent of The Drutti Column and melancholic saxophone, the Balearic instrumental track A1 gracefully drifts in melancholy and comes highly recommended.
